Monday, October 47:00—9:00 PMCarlo Meeting RoomNorthville District Library212 West Cady St, Northville, MI, 48167

Before 1900 tuberculosis killed 1 out of 7 people who had ever lived. To combat this terrible disease, Detroit built Maybury Sanatorium in Northville Township in 1921. This is the story of the construction, operation, patient treatment protocols, staff memories, and closing of the facility in 1969.  3 years later the Maybury property became Maybury State Park. Historian Joe Oldenburg presents this program that is presented in partnership with the Northville Township Historic District Commission.

(Note: This program is also offered on Tuesday, October 5 at 7pm at Northville Township Hall at 44405 Six Mile Rd.)
