Home for the Holidays with Harpist Chanah Ambuter

Tuesday, December 227:00—9:00 PMONLINE EVENTNorthville District Library212 West Cady St, Northville, MI, 48167

Chanah Ambuter first began harp studies at the age of 11. Since then, she has continued to pursue the harp with instruction at The Julliard School: Precollege Division, The University of Michigan, and the University of Illinois, culminating with her Master of Music in Harp Performance and Literature degree. She performs frequently in the greater Metro-Detroit area, and past clients have included the DIA, the Metro-Detroit Chorale, the University of Michigan, and more! Her harp was made by the prestigious Italian manufacturer "Salvi," whose luxurious, luminous sound and masterful craftsmanship led to a custom commission from the Royal British Family to make the official harp for The Prince of Wales and was played at the royal wedding! Chanah has cultivated a diverse and flamboyant repertoire of music, and she loves to explore the musical possibilities they present!

This evening, she has prepared a nostalgic blend of Christmas Holiday music. From Sylvia Woods' charming arrangements of timeless, classic carols, to Ray Pool's quirky and whimsical collections of more modern radio favorites, to Yolanda Kondonassis' sparkling and virtuosic arrangements, as well as some original and rare pieces for the harp inspired by the holiday/winter season, the harp will float you away for an hour of blissful repose!

This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Northville District Library.
