Dr. Parvinder Mehta is a Sikh American emerging poet who earned her Ph.D. in English from Wayne State University. She completed her doctoral dissertation focused on the representation of immigrant identities in selected works of contemporary Asian American writers and filmmakers.  She currently teaches undergraduate courses in literature, Asian art, and film along with writing courses in Detroit, Michigan. Her debut poetry collection, "On Wings of Words" was published in 2021 by a UK-based independent publisher, Khalis House. Through her creative work, she hopes to allow the readers to patiently listen to whispers of social justice, echoes of our buried histories, and melodies of human potential for a more ethical and compassionate world.
