Quest for Freedom: Northville’s Role in the Antislavery and Abolition Movements with Professor, Lecturer, and Historian Rochelle Danquah

Northville’s role is often overlooked in the antislavery and abolition movements in Michigan. This presentation will explore the stories of local abolitionists, and the networks they were active in. By examining Northville’s contribution to the fight for freedom and emancipation of enslaved African Americans, we will uncover the community’s contribution and commitment to justice and equality in the nineteenth century.

Rochelle Danquah is a Phd candidate at Wayne State University, an award winner for research and academic projects, and a member of the Michigan Free Trail Commission.

Registration for this event opens Friday, January 3 at 10:00 AM.
