Join us for a lecture and Q & A by Dr. Roy Finkenbine as he presents the Strange Careers of Solomon Northrup. Northrup was the historical figure portrayed in book and the film adaptation, 12 Years a Slave; but he had a multifaceted life well beyond that which was portrayed.

Roy E. Finkenbine is a biographer, Professor of History, at the University of Detroit Mercy; Dept. Co-Chair, Director of the Black Abolitionist Archive, an Interim Director of African American Studies.
